Background & results
Even with a commercial ERP in place, the floor still logged assembly counts and production times by hand.
Similar part names led to constant mis-picks.
Receiving, picking, put-away and sales all had to be hand-written first, then keyed in at a workstation.
SCOPE
Shop-floor execution and named-operator reporting
Digital receiving and picking, with pick verification
Label printing
See which station every work order has reached
Assembly counts and production times were logged by hand, so a supervisor had to ask around to learn where things stood.
Production progress board
Customer order no. / sales order, work order and due date / part name and spec / planned vs received quantity / picking progress (sub-assembly, parts and process, each with its own percentage) / five stations — assembly, tightening & pressure test, handle, inspection, packing — each with a red/green light and a percentage, flagged as photo pending, report pending or reported.
